It constitutes a core auxiliary light source equipment in the fields of forensic examination and identification, criminal technical bone injury analysis, and medical imaging interpretation. This product is deeply customized for the high-precision interpretation of medical imaging films such as X-ray and CT films in forensic pathological examinations. It perfectly adapts to various professional scenarios, including the analysis of skeletal injuries and the determination of fracture patterns during forensic pathological autopsies, the localization of bullets or foreign objects inside the body, technical review and evidence collection of medical imaging films in cases involving personal injury, traffic accidents, and work-related injuries, and forensic medical imaging education in public security and medical colleges. The system employs a high-quality LCD backlight source with a color temperature exceeding 10000°K. Through precision optical design, it ensures a brightness uniformity of ≥90% across the entire viewing screen (visible area 751mm × 422mm), with a surface brightness continuously adjustable within the range of 800-1500 cd/m². Combined with intelligent split-panel induction, an adjustable timer shutdown, and an ultra-slim 2.5cm structure, it fundamentally resolves operational pain points such as the difficulty in discerning image details due to insufficient color temperature in traditional film viewers, uneven screen brightness impacting the overall assessment of films, and visual fatigue caused by stroboscopic light sources during prolonged film reading. It provides forensic examiners and criminal technical personnel with a "standardized film reading light environment featuring professional high color temperature uniform illumination, intelligent induction for energy saving and convenience, and ultra-slim, long-life visual comfort." It is a key auxiliary equipment for ensuring the accuracy of forensic bone injury analysis, foreign body examination, and pathological diagnosis.
Technical Principle
This device operates based on the principles of LCD backlight illumination and precision optical uniformization technology. The core light source utilizes an 8-tube LCD backlight system. The light emitted by the backlight source passes through a precisely designed optical light guide plate and diffusion film layers, forming an emission surface light source with highly uniform brightness across the viewing screen. The system color temperature is calibrated to ≥10000°K, falling within the high color temperature cold white light range. This effectively penetrates the fogging layer of medical imaging films, allowing key diagnostic information—such as fine bone trabeculae, fracture line morphology, soft tissue layers, and foreign object contours—to be clearly presented with high contrast. The overall visible size of the viewing screen is 751mm × 422mm. Through precision optical design and a multi-tube array arrangement, the system ensures a brightness variation across the entire screen surface of ≤10%, completely eliminating the localized dark areas caused by gaps between the tubes in traditional film viewers. This satisfies the professional demands of forensic examiners for visually uniform assessment of entire X-ray or CT films without visual bias. The surface brightness is continuously adjustable via a knob within the range of 800-1500 cd/m², allowing the operator to flexibly adjust according to film density and diagnostic needs.
In terms of intelligent control, the device is equipped with 3 photoelectric sensors to achieve intelligent split-panel control. When a medical imaging film is inserted into the left or right viewing area, the corresponding side's lightbox automatically illuminates while the other side remains extinguished. Once the film is removed, the lightbox turns off automatically. This smart induction mechanism avoids the energy waste and operational inconvenience caused by traditional film viewers requiring manual switching or remaining fully illuminated at all times. The built-in adjustable timer shutdown function automatically powers off the device after 2 hours of continuous operation by default. Users can also preset the shutdown time to 4 or 8 hours according to actual work needs, effectively preventing power consumption and accelerated light source lifespan degradation caused by forgetting to turn off the device. The light source adopts high-frequency drive technology, with an extremely high flicker frequency, effectively preventing the retinal stimulation caused by low-frequency flickering. Even during prolonged, high-intensity, continuous film reading sessions, the operator's vision is optimally protected.
At the physical structure level, the entire unit features an ultra-slim design, with a thickness of only 2.5 centimeters, external dimensions of 918mm × 495mm × 25mm, and a weight of approximately 9 kg, saving operational space in laboratories and autopsy rooms. The viewing screen is made of high-strength acrylic material that offers excellent light transmission properties and remains deformation-free and colorfast over long-term use. It is paired with a needle-roller self-locking film clamping device that replaces the traditional spring clip design. This system clamps the films from medical schools more securely and smoothly, allowing for quick insertion and removal without easily damaging precious films. The entire unit is compatible with AC 220V, 50/60Hz mains electricity, with a power consumption of only 48W. The light source has an extremely long service life and low heat generation, fully meeting the high-durability demands of year-round uninterrupted operation in forensic laboratories.
Core Functions and Compliance Operational Value
≥10000°K Professional High Color Temperature and ≥90% Brightness Uniformity, Providing a Standardized Film Reading Light Environment Compliant with Medical Imaging Diagnostic Standards
The device's color temperature is calibrated to ≥10000°K, falling within the professional medical film viewer standard color temperature range. The high color temperature cold white light can effectively penetrate the fogging layer and high-density areas of medical imaging films, clearly presenting critical diagnostic information—such as fine bone textures, micro-fracture gaps, soft tissue layers, and metallic foreign body contours—with high contrast. Through precision optical design, the brightness variation across the entire screen surface is ≤10%, completely eliminating edge dark areas and localized bright spots caused by tube gaps. Surface brightness is continuously adjustable within the range of 800-1500 cd/m², allowing the operator to flexibly select the optimal brightness for different film densities (such as thoracic X-rays or soft tissue CT scans). This standardized film reading light environment ensures that the same film, when read at different times or by different operators, receives consistent visual interpretation conditions. This meets the normative requirements for the repeatability and consistency of light source conditions in forensic imaging examinations, providing dual assurance for the objectivity of forensic pathological injury assessment opinions, from the light source to the diagnosis.
Intelligent Split-Panel Induction and Adjustable Timer Shutdown, Enhancing Film Reading Operational Efficiency and Reducing Energy and Equipment Maintenance Costs
The device is equipped with 3 photoelectric sensors to achieve intelligent split-panel control—the side of the lightbox where a film is inserted automatically illuminates, while the other side remains extinguished; light turns off automatically when the film is removed. This design is particularly suited to the forensic pathological examination workflow where multiple films need to be individually reviewed and compared. The operator does not need to manually switch the power on and off or adjust brightness frequently, greatly simplifying the film reading process. The built-in adjustable timer shutdown function automatically powers off after a default of 2 hours, with support for extending to 4 or 8 hours. This effectively prevents the waste of electricity, accelerated light source degradation, and potential electrical fire hazards caused by forgetting to turn off the device after intense examination work. From the level of human-machine interaction, it fully supports the dual requirements of standardized forensic laboratory management and occupational health and safety.
Ultra-Slim 2.5cm Structure and Needle-Roller Self-Locking Clamping Device, Optimizing Laboratory Space Utilization and Protecting Valuable Films
The entire unit has a thickness of only 2.5 centimeters, featuring a compact form factor that can be wall-mounted or placed on a desktop, allowing flexible arrangement within the limited counter space of forensic autopsy rooms, laboratories, or film reading rooms. The viewing screen is made of high-strength acrylic material, remaining deformation-free and colorfast over long-term use, with stable light transmission. The needle-roller self-locking film clamping device replaces the traditional spring clip design, clamping films more securely and smoothly for quick insertion and removal without damaging the film surface. Given that X-ray and CT films in criminal cases are often the sole and irreplaceable original medical evidence, this non-destructive clamping design fully embodies the legal principle of "non-destructive priority, preserving the original appearance" in physical evidence examination. The high-frequency flicker drive and low heat generation characteristics of the light source ensure the visual comfort and occupational health protection of forensic examiners during prolonged, high-intensity film reading work.
Compliant Application Scenarios
Bone Injury and Foreign Object Imaging Analysis Scenario in Forensic Pathological Autopsy
During forensic pathological autopsies, the forensic pathologist uses this film viewer to perform high-precision interpretation of the X-ray films taken of the deceased's body, analyzing the type of bone injury, the orientation of fracture lines, the distribution of comminuted fracture fragments, the degree of joint dislocation, and the precise location of bullets, metallic foreign objects, or calcified lesions within the body. The high color temperature uniform illumination ensures that every detail of the imaging information across the entire film is clearly presented with consistent grayscale, providing objective imaging evidence for determining the cause of death, inferring the mechanism of injury, and analyzing the causative instrument. The film reading process and result judgment fully comply with the standard requirements for the technical conditions of imaging data analysis stipulated in the Standards for Forensic Pathological Autopsy.
Medical Imaging Technical Review Scenario in Criminal Technical Personal Injury Identification
In criminal technical identifications involving personal injury, traffic accidents, and work-related injuries, the forensic examiner uses this film viewer to conduct technical reviews of the examinee's X-ray and CT films, assessing the causal relationship between the fracture injury and the incident in question, and whether the degree of injury meets the legal threshold for minor or serious injury. The uniform high color temperature light source ensures that critical details such as tiny old fracture traces and soft tissue calcifications on the films are not visually missed, providing a light source condition guarantee that meets the applicable standards for the objectivity and accuracy of the expert opinion.
Forensic Imaging Education and Training Scenario in Public Security and Medical Colleges
In the teaching laboratories of criminal police academies and forensic medicine departments of medical schools, this film viewer serves as a standard film reading teaching tool. It is used for X-ray film interpretation instruction in forensic medical imaging diagnosis courses. The double-panel design supports simultaneous film reading and comparison by teachers and students. The intelligent split-panel induction function facilitates the display and explanation of individual films during instruction. It is a foundational teaching tool for cultivating standardized film reading skills in forensic medicine professionals.

Compliant Field Application Cases
In its routine forensic pathological autopsy work, the forensic identification center of a municipal public security department deployed this Medical LED Double-Panel Film Viewer in the forensic autopsy room as the primary film reading device. During the examination of a death case involving a fall from a height, the forensic pathologist systematically inserted the multiple full-body X-ray films of the deceased into the film viewer one by one for assessment. Under the ≥10000°K high color temperature uniform illumination, the pathologist clearly identified bilateral comminuted calcaneal fractures, a lumbar vertebral compression fracture, and the fracture line morphology and displacement of a distal radius fracture. Simultaneously, a minute metallic foreign body was discovered within the soft tissue of the left lower leg—later confirmed through extraction and testing to be a metal fragment from a window frame embedded during the fall. These imaging findings provided objective imaging technical support for determining the point of impact, the height of the fall, and the mechanism of injury formation. The consistency of the light source conditions throughout the film reading process ensured that the interpretation standard for each X-ray film was uniform. The film reading records and imaging analysis were comprehensively archived as a technical appendix to the forensic expert opinion.
When accepting a re-examination case of personal injury from a traffic accident, a forensic identification center needed to conduct a technical review of the examinee's cervical, thoracic, and right lower limb X-ray films to assess the degree of fracture injury and its correlation to the accident as determined in the original assessment. The forensic examiner used this film viewer, adjusting the optimal reading brightness within the range of 800-1500 cd/m² for each film according to its density. Under the uniform high color temperature light source, the examiner reviewed the fracture line locations marked in the original assessment one by one. The examiner discovered that a vertebral body image originally identified as an "old compression fracture" indeed exhibited old characteristics when observed at 800 cd/m² brightness. However, when the brightness was increased to 1500 cd/m², a previously unseen disordered arrangement of fresh bone trabeculae appeared around the area, suggesting the potential concurrent presence of a new injury. This finding was later confirmed through CT 3D reconstruction. The examiner subsequently corrected the original expert conclusion based on this evidence. In this case, the adjustable brightness function of the film viewer provided crucial optical support for the examiner to accurately differentiate between old and new mixed injuries. The corrected expert conclusion was admitted during court cross-examination.
